The Ubud Palace, officially Puri Saren Agung, is a historical building complex situated in Ubud, Gianyar Regency of Bali, Indonesia. The palace was the official residence of the royal family of Ubud. The palace was the official residence of the royal family of Ubud and built around the year 1800. There also several festivals and events held in this palace where you and your family can learn about Balinese culture and history.

  1. Visit Goa Gajah

Goa Gajah, or Elephant Cave, is located on the island of Bali near Ubud, in Indonesia. Built-in the 9th century, it served as a sanctuary. The complex contains both Hindu and Buddhist imagery which is the most attractive part of this place. The cave contains lingam and yoni, a symbol of Shiva, and the image of Ganesha, while by the river there are carved images of stupas and chattra, the imagery of Buddhism. The entrance of the cave is accessed only by walking down a long flight of stairs. The inside of the temple is small and usually has trails of white smoke from the incense burning. Visitors wearing shorts will be issued a sarong to tie around the waist before entering the courtyard.

The park, as the habitat of the adult butterflies (imago), is designed in such a way based on the insects’ needs. The park collects some different colorful variety of butterflies. You can see and observe them feeding and flying all around. Occasionally some butterflies are resting on the leaves of the plants and it gives you taking a picture opportunity on them. On the way out, you can visit a pupa/chrysalis room hanging inside the room. If you are really lucky you can see and observe how the adult butterflies (imago) emerge from the pupa/chrysalis. Additionally, releasing the adult butterflies (imago) from inside the room to the park is absolutely unforgettable nature experience for you.

Ubud Monkey Forest is one of the most amazing and famous tourist destinations of Ubud. Your visit to Ubud will not complete without visiting this great place. It is primarily a nature reserve and temple complex, which is the home to around 340 monkeys, the Balinese Macaques, out which 34 are adult males, 19 are male sub adult, 122 juvenile, 77 adult females, and around 54 infants.
